“Hi! My name is Sarah and I moved to Australia about 5 years ago. Yes Yes Indian Supermarket has always been my go-to for groceries, and I really appreciate the efforts they put in for us to stay connected to our roots. That is when I decided to introduce myself to our people, and share my take on how baking makes me feel home.
My journey of baking started when I was 17-18 years old. The first cake I ever baked was a chocolate cake. I was never fond of cooking but baking was always a joy for me!
Whilst living in Germany with my parents, I never really found the cakes to my taste, one way or the other. So I took it on myself to satisfy my sweet cravings and to make special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries of my family members memorable for them and myself.
Moving away from family after marriage and missing out on all the celebrations was really hard on me. But I would still make it a point to bake a cake and celebrate with them on video calls. Everyone has something they are passionate about, but I have always been blank about what that one passion is and what I would like to do with my life. I have never been a 9-5 person, as working on something I’m not passionate about is certainly not my cup of tea!
So while I was planning for my son’s 2nd birthday I thought i should bake his cake to make it all the more special. That is when it zoned on me that I am passionate about celebrating the little joys of life and making them last forever in our minds and hearts. And what’s better than making that celebration sweet and beautiful with a cake (what is a celebration without a cake, right?)
That is when I decided to start my own home based business of baking special occasion cakes to brighten up your smiles and sweetening your memories forever- it just makes me feel closer to home!
I wish to sweeten your special days with my cakes just like I would like to see bright eyed smiles on my loved ones. I try to go out of my way to satisfy my customers and make the cake as expected if not better. Every cake teaches me a new skill and I am forever learning.
